What is the difference between accreditation and certification?
Certification bodies certify organizations, for example to ISO 9001. Accreditation bodies such as ISA assess the certification bodies themselves, to confirm they are competent and impartial.
How long does accreditation take?
Usually 4 to 9 months from a complete application, depending on scope and how quickly findings are closed.
How long is accreditation valid?
A four year cycle, with surveillance each year and full reassessment in the fourth year.
